Patron in Chief

He was born on 25th May 1965. He did his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi in 1993 and was enrolled as advocate with Delhi State Bar Council on 9th December 1993. He started his practice at Delhi on both Criminal and Civil sides. He practiced for almost 19 years as an advocate in different Courts, there are about 140 reported judgements of Supreme Court in which he appeared as a counsel.

He was appointed as Additional Judge of the Jharkhand High Court at Ranchi on 17th January 2013 and was confirmed as permanent Judge on 27th June 2014. He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court on 29th December 2023.

He was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court and took oath on 5th July 2024. He was transferred to Bombay High Court and took oath as judge on 21th July 2025 where he also briefly served as Acting Chief Justice before being elevated as Chief Justice of the same High Court.

On 25th August 2025 Supreme Court collegium led by CJI B. R. Gavai recommended him to be appointed as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court consequent upon the elevation of the then Chief Justice Alok Aradhe to Supreme Court of India and central government approved this proposal and he took oath as Chief Justice on 5th September 2025.
